Revenue share
A compensation model where the creator earns a percentage of attributed revenue.
Also known as: Rev share · Revenue split · Affiliate-style payout
Revenue share pays a creator a percentage of attributed revenue rather than a flat fee. It aligns incentives — the creator earns more when the campaign converts — and it lets brands run more programs with less upfront cash.
Mechanics
A creator receives a per-creator promo code and/or tag. Conversions attributed to that creator generate a payout at a contracted percentage (typically 5–25% depending on category and exclusivity), settled on a cadence (per-order, weekly, or monthly).
Why it matters now
As performance-marketing scrutiny rises, brands want creator spend that defends itself with attributable revenue. Revenue share converts creator spend from a budget line into a margin line.
