Holdout Test

An experiment that withholds a campaign from a control group to measure its incremental impact.

A holdout test withholds a campaign from a randomly chosen control group, then compares outcomes against the exposed group to measure incrementality.

It is the cleanest way to prove a creator program caused sales rather than merely correlated with them — capturing effects, like the halo effect, that last-click attribution misses.
